How Much Should Replacement Windows Cost for Your Home?

I cannot stress this enough! Don't get fooled by the too-good-to-be-true price of the $189 windows! Unfortunately at that price they cannot provide your home the energy savings and confidence the installation of a quality replacement window can. As a matter of fact, I believe it was Hans Andersen, the founder of America's leading replacement window manufacturer, Andersen Windows, who is recognized noting - “Only the rich can afford poor windows!” LOL Right? I am not sure that is true today...BUT...

First of all, often times homeowners forget about what they probably will not be getting including:

• Lack of customer service
• Single pane versus Double or even Triple Pane
• Special maintenance free coatings
• Insulated design
• Warranty
• Energy savings for more than a year
• Noticeable quality for more than a year

So what should you be looking for in a good window?

• A good window frame (there's many types - wood, vinyl, aluminum, fiberglass)
• Glass quality
• Insulating features
• Warranty length and coverage
• Company selling the windows
• Installation Team certifications

You deserve replacement windows that last YOUR lifetime...if you're interested in learning more call ABC Windows And More at 419-931-6573 or check out our website at www.ABCWindowsOhio.com! We'd love to share our knowledge about new windows and replacement windows with you today!

Unsure If You Need New Windows for Your Home?

At ABC Windows And More we understand no one really wants to replace all their windows in their home. Many want to add a bay window, a garden window, or even a large picture window to their home to have a better view of the outdoors or add natural lighting to a room.

However, when it comes to replacing windows in a home people often ask, mainly due to the worry of the expense and the idea of having every opening in their home exposed to the outdoor elements...

WHEN IS THE RIGHT TIME TO REPLACE MY WINDOWS?

Neither of which is true - but we will save that discussion until our next blog entry!

Here are signs to consider:

• Having trouble opening or closing your windows
• Hearing more outside noise indoors than usual
• Noticing more dirt on the inside of your windowsill
• Windows are painted shut or are inoperable
• Furniture is beginning to look very faded and old sooner than it should
• Utility bills are rising and are higher than normal
• Hotter indoors in the summer even with the air conditioner on
• Do you find having to set the heat 7-15 degrees hotter in the winter to stay warm in any or all rooms

New windows can add so much to your home beyond just letting light in, curb appeal and new found value if you decide to sell your home. Windows are an important part of your life and your home’s structure. Quality windows will make living so much more enjoyable!

Are All Windows Energy Efficient?

Unfortunately not all replacement windows are not created equal or are energy efficient.

Energy-efficient glass in new windows and replacement windows options include:

• Double-pane with argon gas
• Hi-R Tripane: Features two layers of LoE glass with a clear center pane
• LoE : Features double metallic coating on the inside glass surface to reflect or absorb the sun’s warmth and reduce damaging UV rays
• LoE -366 : Featuring three metallic layers of silver, this glass rejects solar heat. Recommended for warm climates where cooling costs are high and also for areas with intense exposure to the sun

Most all ABC Windows And More windows and related products are certified for energy efficiency by the federal ENERGY STAR program. Look for the ENERGY STAR label for your assurance of top performance!
